About Me:

Prof.Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, now working as Professor of Microbiology in International Medical college & Head, Health Technology unit, International Medical college from February 2020. Although he started his Government service as an In-service trainee after graduation from Dhaka Medical college (Batch K36,DMC) on 21st November, 1984 andended IST on 20th November,1985. Thereafter, he was posted as Asst.Surgeon(Medical officer) by DGHS on October, 1986 After 34 years, in Government service (35.2years including 23 years as teacher of Microbiology in 5 Medical colleges namely SSMC,CoMC,DMC,RpMC& finally in ShaheedSuhrawardy Medical college for almost a decade as Professor of Microbiology)and got retired from Government service on last 23rd January,2020.Till now he has 12 publications on different national and international journals. Now he involves with Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory, IMCH as a Sr. consultant and performing the RT- PCR test for diagnosis of COVID-19. Besides these he provides Microbiological Laboratory services, IMCH and conducts classes and examinations of international Health Technology Unit and International Nursing College. Other than academic activities her involvement in different organizational work- as a member of laboratory development management committee and is evident.
