Message from the Managing Director
I have the great pleasure to welcome the admission-seeking candidates into International Medical College (IMC). It has been more than 21 years since we established this private medical college with a unique vision to serve mankind. After this long journey, we are quite confident that we took a timely initiative to serve our nation.
At the time of establishing this medical college, our motivation was to produce highly skilled medical professionals to cater to the needs of the health sector of the country. For achieving this, we know that we should not compromise with the quality of medical education. Because we believe that without proper medical education, we will not be able to produce skilled and efficient health professionals in Bangladesh. So we aim at providing a sound medical education that will undoubtedly facilitate a solid foundation of the healthcare system in our country.
We impart not only world-class education to our graduates, but we also give them exposure to all kinds of learning environment at International Medical College Hospital (IMCH), the teaching hospital of IMC. It is founded with high ambition and a long-term vision. We have introduced all sorts of technological supports in our hospital. Day by day, we incorporated state-of-the-art medical equipment and diagnostic tools here. We set up a highly advanced Molecular Diagnostic Lab to provide diagnostic services for COVID 19 patients.
The exposure of our students to the medical care in IMCH lets them bring excellence in their practice. Their skills are enhanced and sharpened by the meticulous mentoring by the trainers. We provide emphasis on skills that are blended with medical ethics and human attributes. So, we are simultaneously producing good doctors and good human beings which ensure the highest level of care in the medical sector.
Technology is not only a part of our treatment facilities in the hospital but it is also an inseparable driving force of our all activities in both the college and hospital even under CORONA pandemic. We introduced the online teaching system in medical education in Bangladesh. Our teaching learning activities were not stopped for a day. This unique feature kept the momentum of our students' endeavor of learning uninterrupted even in the devastating effect of the Corona Pandemic.' Edutube', an online teaching and learning platform, provided for the IMC, played a pivotal role in facilitating education during the pandemic.
English language proficiency is a must for all professionals to survive in this global job market. Medical professionals are no exception to that. Considering this issue, IMC runs an English course named ESL (English as a Second Language) for enhancing the English language skills of our students. This course is jointly certified by IMC and Kean University (KU), a state-owned university of New Jersey, USA. Faculty Members of KU visit IMC routinely, and they teach our students also.
As a team, we are building a network with the sole aim of transforming the pathways of the medical sector of our country in the right direction. A sense of ownership is infused at all levels of our workforce — from top to bottom of our organization — all the members of management, teachers, doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and other employees. They are continuously giving their efforts with a holistic approach to bring our dreams into a reality.
I would like to appeal to all of you — Let's work together for an excellent healthcare system in our beloved country.
Thank you very much.
